The privately owned (and run) campground is outstanding. There is no fee
to stay there. However, it is apparent that anyone who is parking outside
the locked gate is trespassing across the private ranch.
The Cul-de-sac at the locked gate is posted: “no parking” and
“no trespassing” per Spring Creek Property Owners Association
which owns the land between the road/gate and the USFS land.
The Spring Creek Property Owners Association charges a $25.00 deposit fee
for the gate key (it can be returned after hours at the office drop box!)
and a trespass fee of $10.00 per person which includes an overnight camp spot,
if desired (a GOOD DEAL!).
Using the camp spot allows one a dawn start, being closer to the T/H and the
security of being behind a locked gate (the area is dealing with petty crime).
NOTE: The 2001 trip report by Mike Coltrin
requires updating - the association’s office number has a new area code as (775) 753-6295.
