From the village of Scott on NY 41, go west on Glen Haven Road. Bear left (straight) at 0.4 mile onto Grinnell Road. Sharp right at 0.9 mile onto unsigned road. Stay on main road and bear right onto Bear Swamp Road at 2.3 miles. Continue straight ahead (right) at 2.7 miles, where the more substantial Iowa Road bears left. Zero odometer. Turn right onto unsigned Ridge Road at 0.5 mile. Pass cemetery at 1.2 miles. Reach the multiple trail junction mentioned by Bob Packard at 1.6 miles. The circular metal blazes on the trees all look the same, but there are three different numbered trails in the immediate area.

I parked there and hiked to the first area to the left side of trail #5, close to the road. Further along, you'll see the northward trending low ridge that contains the next area to the west. I hiked north along the low ridge, with no distinct highest point, and bushwhacked due north to the tiny northern area, the highest part of a flat bump. From there, look for a woods road that heads east along the well-blazed state forest boundary and reaches Ridge Road about 1/2 mile north of the three-trail junction, leaving a road walk back to the car.
