Rockhouse Mountain (1283 ft)
In Harriman State park, look for small pullout off Route 106, NW of Lake Welch. Pullout is 0.2 mile
north of overpass. Trailhead is not obvious, but leads up the bank into woods.
Correct trail is blue blazed.
Hike for less than ten minutes until trail butts up against the mountain and climbs over a low shoulder.
Where trail gains maximum elevation, bushwhack uphill, trending to the left about 200 yards to summit,
crowned with large group of boulders.
Jackie Jones Mountain (1280+ ft)
From Route 106/St.Johns Road junction near Lake Welch, drive east 1.6 miles to large pullout, 300 feet
past trailhead at paved side road.
Yellow blazed trail starts up the side road, shortly leaves it, and roughly parallels it to the summit. Take
your pick of trail or road. On mountain top, pass the AT&T towers and continue uphill to fire tower at
summit. An overgrown trail descends from the fire tower to rte 106, 6/10 mile uphill from the yellow trail
head. This is shorter, with 100 feet less gain, but the hiking is much more pleasant on the road or yellow
trail. Excellent view from tower.
