Darke County Highpoint Trip Report

I approached from the same spot as Chip and Bob Packard. I asked permission from the owners of the red house at the corner of the intersection of Rush and Richmond Roads. They were a friendly elderly couple but permission wasn't theirs to give. The owner lives over ten miles away, so I went after it across the relatively dry fields to the forested summit. As Bob said, this is a real hill in Ohio. They mentioned that another neighbor of theirs is the one who junks cars on the hill but that he doesn't own the land either. I encountered quite a few thorny bushes in my bushwhack towards the summit - was glad for the long sleeves and pants.

This trip is 1.26 miles round trip with 180 feet of gain (according to GPS).
