Seneca County Highpoint Trip Report

Date: June 28, 2001
Author: Bob Schwab

Andy Martin's book references two sites, one of which is an old tailing pile in the yard of the Hansen Bloomville Quarry. Since this high spot is quarry debris, I did not feel the need to enter the property and scramble up the rubble heap.

The highest natural point in Seneca county can be reached by driving south from Attica on Ohio Route 4. Just south of the tiny settlement of Carrothers, turn right (west) on Seneca County Route 58 (County Line Road). Go west 0.9 mile to TR 79 Road (dirt) and turn right (north). Drive 0.35 mile to a rise in the road. The small high point is close to the road in a cornfield on the east side (40° 59.920' N, 82° 56.349' W).
