Leave Interstate 77 at Exit 81 where US 250 and Ohio 39 intersect near New Philadelphia. Travel southwest on County 21 (which parallels the interstate highway) for 6 miles to County 51. Turn right and drive 1 mile to County 50. Bear left and continue on County 50 for 1.8 more miles to Ore Hill Road (County 250). Turn right and go up Ore Hill Road 1.1 miles to the crest in the road. Turn right up a steep driveway to a lovely home (#7653 Ore Hill Road) and get acquainted with Kelly Miller.

Kelly and his father were both aware of the county highpoint north of their location. Kelly graciously gave me permission to cross his property, and allowed me to park just down the hill from his house, near an outbuilding.

Hike out across an open field that drains to the left and stay high on the ridge. Soon you will arrive at the woods, where you can follow an old road of sorts that goes north through the trees. Just before you break out of the woods into another field, turn left up a steep skid track that has recently been used to remove timber. Soon the track will flatten out and head southwest. Bushwhack northwest a short distance into the woods and briars. There are several low piles of rocks among the bushes and briars. Some of these rocks appear to be remnants of an old stone wall, but others may be natural formations. I made sure I visited all the most likely sites, but I suspect these spots will be much harder to detect when the leaves are on the bushes and trees.

This area is just a short distance southwest from a northeastern field that almost comes up to the top of the hill. Unfortunately, the margin of this field is very overgrown with briars and brush, so an approach from that side is not recommended.
