Leave state route 34 at the saddle and follow the signs to Marys Peak. Buy the Forest Pass for your visit. We counted at least a dozen types of flowers along the gated roadway including red columbine, Columbia lily, Indian paintbrush, lupine, beargrass. A sign at road's end points out mountains from Mt. Hood to Mt. Thielsen. The views improve at the summit, though the radio towers are less than beautiful.

Trip statistics: About 1.2 miles round trip with 337 feet of elevation gain.
