Mt Bolivar (4,319 ft)

Date: June 1997
Author: Ken Jones

A trail leads to the summit of this peak named for the South American liberator. A plaque on the summit tells more about him.

From I-5, head west at Exit 80. Follow the road along the north side of Cow Creek west and northwest; several miles after it crosses to the south side of the creek look for the Dutch Henry road heading left up Riffle Creek. Follow this road to the top of the main east-west trending ridge, where you' ll turn right (west). Follow the main ridgetop road; shortly after you enter Coos county you'll find the signed Mt. Bolivar trailhead and trail on your left. A hike of 1200' gain and around a mile will put you on top.
