A not-very-interesting summit.
From U.S. 395 at the Ukiah junction, take forest road 53 west (away from
Ukiah) and follow it about 14 or 15 miles to a junction with 5326. Turn
right onto 5326 and follow it about 5-1/2 miles to a small junction on the
right (at the line between sections 23 and 24). Turn right and follow this
road, keeping left at a fork, to a gate just over 1/4 mile from its
beginning. (Driving distances estimated; use a map to be sure.)
Walk around the gate and follow the road, sticking with the uphill route at
junctions (see the topo) to the summit of Black Mountain.
