Yamhill County High Point Trip Report

Trask Mountain (3,424 ft)

It was typical for western Oregon in November, a dark, dismal, damp, dreary, drizzly, drippy day, which translated to massive amounts of miserable mud mucking up my marvelous, magnificent machine (1991 Toyota 4Runner). However, the joyful result of all this unpleasantness was a new county highpoint. Ken Jones' report was very helpful, but that could be said of nothing else about the drive. Once on Willamette Industries' land, the road numbers were completely useless because all I had was DeLorme. The trees were so thick beside the road that the GPS only worked occasionally, but even those few times helped adequately as I was able to find the correct roads to the summit with only three navigating mistakes. Indeed the hike was trivial, but in the drizzle and fog, not at all pleasant.
