Date: April 2, 2000
Author: Michael Schwartz

From PA 839, 6 miles north of Dayton and 8 miles south of New Bethlehem, turn east onto SR 2012. After 0.2 miles, turn left onto a paved road which crosses railroad tracks and reaches Mount Tabor at 2.4 miles. Continue north another 0.4 miles to a dirt road on the right. Take the dirt road until it crests. The entire mountain, as well as much of the surrounding area, is a huge ornamental evergreen farm. You can hike the dirt roads among the evergreens right to the summit, or a 4-wheel drive vehicle could make it to the top. Mount Tabor can also be approached from PA 536 in Ringgold via the road signed for Timblin, passing through Timblin to pick up SR 2012, and the road to Mt. Tabor 0.2 miles from PA 839.
