Bedford County High Point Trip Report

Blue Knob (3120+ ft)

Date: March 3, 2000
Author: Michael Schwartz

From Pavia Village take Pavia Road, signed for Blue Knob State Park, for 3.7 miles. Turn right at sign for ski area and go another 1.3 miles to the lodge at the summit. Highest point is at the top of the ski lift, where a sign proclaims the elevation as "3172 feet, the highest skiable point in Pennsylvania." The elevation is wrong, but it is the highest ski slope in the state. Best part of this one was spotting an early season bluebird at about the 2500 foot mark.
