Cambria County High Point Trip Report

One point 3 miles North of Ogletown: Follow Mike Schwartz's trip report.

Another point 3 miles North of Ogletown (under the "ell" of gas well of Topozone): Return East on Skyline Drive for 0.4 mile to a yellow and black gate and park. Walk into the small field where the gas well used to be and head east, sloping up into the woods about 200 yards.

One or two points (depending on where the county border runs, but it's no problem to do both) 1.5 miles north of Round Top: From the yellow and black gate continue east on Skyline Drive for 1.8 miles to intersection with Buffalo Road. Go left. After 0.2 mile is the first gate which may or may not be open. It was open for me, but I decided to mountain bike from this point. Follow this road in a north-northeasterly fashion for about 3 miles to just past a small field (on the right). Go west to the highpoints (about 0.5 mile). These are relatively large and flat areas for Pennsylvania HPs. The western of the 2 areas is best defined from the surrounding territory. I used my GPS to locate both areas and made a good-faith effort to stand on every highest spot within the contours. If I hadn't deliberately gone here to highpoint there would've been no way I could convince myself I was on top a mountain.
