Take PA 46 south 0.7 miles from the Cameron/McKean County line to a dirt road heading southwest. This road was open on my first visit (went to wrong mountain) on April 13, but the gate was closed only eleven days later on my second visit. I checked the lock, as I always do, and was rewarded by finding it in place, but not latched. I removed all the locks and hasps and took them with me until my return to keep from being locked in, opened and re-closed the gate, and was able to drive most of the way to the summit. If the gate is locked, this becomes a straightforward, but six-mile long round trip hike. Take the road up Sixmile Hollow for 0.5 miles, and turn right. This road forks in about 1/10 miles. Take the right fork, then bear right again almost immediately at another fork. Follow this road to the top. It crests at 2.2 miles and reaches the head of the creek shown on the topo at 2.8 miles. From there, hike an old logging road to the right of the creek proceeding uphill. This leads to within a few feet of the summit.
