Lawrence County High Point Trip Report

1 point 1 mile south of Princeton (1,440+ ft)
From US 422, take McConnells Mill-Eckert Bridge Road south through Princeton for 0.9 miles to right
turn at Shaffer Road. Road crests at 1.7 miles. Scramble up embankment to summit hill. The area atop
the embankment is an active shooting range. Beware, especially on weekends.
2 points 2 miles south of Princeton (1,440+ ft)
Continue south on Shaffer Road, and at 2.8 miles make left onto Fairview School Road (SR 2028).
Road crests at 3.9 miles, at radio tower. The area to the north above the radio tower is clearly higher than the
area south of the highway. Note reference benchmark #2 along the highway near the mail box.
1 point 1 mile southwest of Portersville (1,440+ ft)
Just west of the Butler/Lawrence county line on PA 488, park at the farm. I got permission from the
farmer (who looked at me as if I was crazy), to climb the hill on the south side of the highway. This is 1.2
miles west of Portersville.
