spot elevation on Mount Ararat (2,656 ft)

From the PA 370/PA 670 junction in Orson, go south just a bit less than 1.3 miles on 670. There is room to park on the northbound side along an electric fence. Bushwhack straight up the hill, trending slightly left. Faded woods roads help somewhat, but the main obstacle is the thorn bushes, which increase near the top. Difficult bushwhacking to the spot elevation, on the far side of the summit ridge.

2 points 1,700 ft north of Mount Ararat (2,640+ ft)

From the above point, bushwhack north through miserable thorns to a saddle, then climb to a knob, and continue north to an electrified fence line. Cross the fence, and continue north to two more knobs through grazed, much more open woods. After the northernmost knob, the mountain drops off sharply. Two of the three knobs are the two points shown on the topo, probably the two north of the fence. Visit all three to be sure. Return to the fence line, and follow it down the mountain, staying on the grazed side for easier travel. It reaches the road very near to the parking spot. One could follow the fence uphill and hike the ridge top to spot elevation 2656, but a round trip through the thorns on top would not be fun.
