Peaks A and B are connected by a high ridge, forming a prominence island relative to the
surrounding, lower terrain. Since peak B is the higher, its prominence is large,
A+B island prominence. Peak A is lower, with prominence A_prom.

The elevation of peak B may be underestimated in the raw, digitized elevation data
to an extent that its presumed elevation is less than the presumed elevation for peak A.
