Explanation:

NM - WSMR = White Sands Missile Range.
NV - One of the 50 is Bald Mountain in infamous Area 51 - an actively patrolled "secret" military base.

New England - New England (VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI)
Northeast - Northeast states - New England + NY. In other words, everything north of PA and east of Mississippi river.
Southeast - Southeastern US - everything south of PA and east of Mississippi river.
Note that PA has no peaks that would make either NE or SE lists.
Heartland - ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, MN, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, IA, MO, and AR.

48 continuous states - the 50 highest prominence peaks in the 48 contiguous states of the USA.
all 50 states - the 50 highest prominence peaks in each of the 50 states - one per state. State HP completers get 25.

50! - all of the top 50 peaks summited.
100! - all of the top 100 peaks summited.

@ - after name for "club rules" completers who did not summit peaks where "no trespassing" rules are
currently in effect all year long. In this case, the peak(s) that just missed the cut are added
to replace the one(s) with prohibited access. The peak(s) missing are listed in [].
{N} - the actual number of top N peaks climbed when "club rules" are applied for the N+1-st peak.
In essence the "club rules" completer finished the "top N" list rather than the original list.

$ - absolutely every 2000 ft prominence peak in this state was climbed, and the number listed is the
total number of 2000 ft prominence peaks in this state. Only states with 30 or more of these peaks
      are tracked.
