Orangeburg County High Point Trip Report

Take US 321 south of I-26 near Columbia for about 15 miles to the town of Woodford.
You will ascend somewhat to a water tower as you enter town. [Having failed to mark
US 321 on my photocopy, I thought this was west of the tracks and wasted time poking
around here very confused as to why the terrain did not fit the map! Eventually as
Drew drove I noticed the tracks and caught my mistake.] Take the first right to
cross the tracks and then right again to head north parallel to the tracks.
In a half mile the road curves left and just beyond the curve (and a quarter mile
before the county line) park on the right at a jeep track ascending along the edge
of a cotton field. Walk up the jeep track to the top. I think the HP may be at
this spot, but we walked between rows of cotton to get to another spot just to be sure.
