From Exit 116 on I-20, go south on US 15 about 5 miles to the hamlet of Manville. Go right (southwest) on SC 441 for 7 or 8 miles (rough guess) through the hamlet of Woodrow to the county line. Take the first paved right turn south of the county line. (This is shown as county 44 on the topo.) Take this about 2 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right (northwest) for about 0.3 miles on this road, shown as county 241 on the topo, to the first paved left turn. Turn left (west) on this road and take it for about a mile to where the pavement (and state maintenance) ends at the county line.

The Sumter Co. HP is along and just south of the county line a couple of hundred feet to the west. Fortunately, the county line here is also a property line. There is a lawn adjacent to the house just north of the line, in Lee county, and a rough field that apparently belongs to the people in the house south of the line, in Sumter County. I walked back in the field parallel to the county line and wandered around trying to find some place slightly higher. No one came out of either house to ask what I was doing.
