Thunder Hawk Butte (2,710+ ft)

Start at the junction of US 12 and north SD route 73. The junction is not marked correctly
on the topo chart. SD 73 becomes ND 49 one mile to the north in North Dakota. Go 1/2 mile west of
the junction with SD 73. Go left (south) on gravel CR 37, with butte in full view.
Turn left at one mile onto the gravel road south of the butte, and go 0.4 mile to some derelict buildings.
Short hike to the summit, which has no markings of any kind. View should be excellent, but this was a day
of sideways rain and snow squalls.
