Marion County High Point Trip Report

A new dirt lane heads to this area with a big mudhole right at the start. I walked by this trap. The area has been logged, and many trees are pushed over. Their root dirt balls may form the HP, and I left a register on one of these.

Finally it was off to the "three cornered monstrosity" area, which is now occupied by the Laager CM Youth Camp, established 1992. The county line is marked on the paved road, but I did not spot any markers or fences for the three county lines [Marion, Grundy, and Sequatchie] here.

I paced off 500' towards the tri-county junction, which may be very close to a latrine. A caretaker was getting the camp ready for the kids that would be visiting, and we struck up a conversation. He did not know much more about the county line locations than I did, so I wandered around a bit more and called it a day.
