Maury County High Point Trip Report

(Also consult the report for Giles County TN as these two counties share some confusing highpoint areas.)

On the map it looked like access was not a problem with these, but in reality the opposite was true. The first area is right by the "F" on Flanigan Hill on the map. A house sits right by the road, and I hollered a bit, but it seemed no one was home. I'd wandered to the back yard before the homeowner emerged, a friendly black gentleman. We talked about the confusing county lines in the area, and I wandered around some more behind the residence.

The next area lies entirely in Maury county, and has a fire tower on it with a residence at the bottom. I walked down a lane to the tower, while dogs at the residence put up quite a racket. A female homeowner came out and we chatted a bit, but did not climb the tower. I went back out the lane to the car. The BM (35 DS on the map) is found right at the end of the lane. Not sure what it actually says.

The third area is near the right edge of the map. It has a trailer home on it. It looked like a least 4 adults lived in the trailed. A man in the front yard told me the HP was by a trash sack in the front yard. I stepped over there, then left. Not exactly the scenic HP of the trip.
