From the Junction of Highway 30 & 411 go East on Highway 30 for 6.1 miles. Turn onto Tellico-Reliance Rd. This turn is just in front of the Webb Brothers General Store. Travel on the Tellico-Reliance Rd. for 5.5 miles. Turn onto FS Road 44/Starr Mountain Rd. This turn is to your left and is in front of Sevilla Baptist Church. Travel on FS Road 44/Starr Mountain Road for 6.8 Miles. At this point you should see a gated road to your left, park here. FS Road 44 makes a sharp turn to the right after it passes the gate and starts losing elevation.

Bushwhack from the gated area to the top of the ridge. After you reach the top of the ridge you will find the remnants of an old trail follow this trail to the going to Southwest. This old trail follows the ridge line and will take you to the highpoints. Total hiking distance 2 to 3 miles.

On a clear day there should be some very nice views to the West. As you drive up FS Road 44 there is a pretty little waterfall on the right side of the road about 3 miles after you leave Tellico-Reliance Rd.

Note: The Webb Bothers Store is a local landmark and well worth a stop. The store looks pretty much the way it did when it first opened up around 50 years ago. The local Post Office is also in the store. Also if you have the time the Hiwassee River is a fun river to float in inner tubes.
