Moore County High Point Trip Report

Date: April 1, 2000

Take Highway 231 south from Shelbyville, or north from Fayetteville to the Moore county line; the highway follows the county line for about 3 miles only.

1. The southernmost point is reached by turning east on Bartlett Hollow Road and driving about 0.2 miles to a chicken farm on the right. Park at the top of the hill and walk to the top. The highest point is a small ridge; crossing the fence or hiking downhill and into the farm is needed to get all areas. The highest point seems to be on the other side of the fence.

2. The northernmost point is reached by parking on the east side of the highway just north of Marrs Hollow Road. Walk through the field along Marrs Hollow Road about 150 feet to the highest rise just across the road from a house.
