Ken Oeser's trip report is still valid, with a couple of corrections. The total mileage from TN 91 to the fence
in front of the FAA facility is 7.8 miles. And Panhandle Road is about 10.3 miles east of the intersection of
TN 91 with US 19E. We had trouble finding Panhandle Road (the route up the mountain) due to highway
construction, and the consequent removal of street signs, on TN 91. We had to ask a local resident where
the road was. From the condition of the roadway, it would appear that this condition will probably continue
into next summer, so anyone planning on doing this one in the next few months should be aware of this.
