Atascosa County High Point Trip Report

From the junction of the Anderson Loop road, FM 1604, and FM 2790, southwest of San Antonio, drive
southwest on FM 2790 into Somerset. Follow FM 2790 west for 1.5 miles to FM 476. Turn left and go
south on FM 476 for 2 miles to FM 3175. Drive west on FM 3175 six miles almost to the high point on
the highway after the road turns north. This point can also be reached from the west from I35. Find a
gravel road leading northeast just south of point 778 on the topo map. With permission, you can drive 0.2
northeast on this road to near a house. Walk northeast a quarter mile up a vehicle track and then through
scattered vegetation to the high point. Somerset BM, not named on the topo map, is set in a concrete
pillar very near the high point.
