Bexar County Highpoint Trip Report

My friend Teri and her sister were gracious enough to drive down from Austin, pick me up at the airport, and hang out with me for the afternoon. After sharing lunch together, we drove north on 16 through Helotes and turned right on Haby Lane, just before the county line. We drove just over a mile on Haby Lane, through an open ranch gate, and approached the occupants of the first house on the right. They were friendly enough, although they thought I was crazy. By pure luck, the highpoint property owner was there for a visit. I gave him my business card and left him the nice color map I had printed for the occasion. He told me that the only good approach is from the northeast on Toutant Beauregard and there are three locked ranch gates to go through. So he was unable to make time to accompany me this time but he offered to accompany me on a future visit to San Antonio if I give him some advance notice.
