Panola County High Point Trip Report

From TX315 between Carthage and Mt. Enterprise, find a road leading east from just west of the Panola
county line. Drive a mile east and a mile south. Where the road turns east, there is a gate on the west side
of the road with a sign "D A Smith Farm".
When I was there, this gate was locked. I walked the road south, west, and northwest to the house on the
top of Greens Mountain, hoping to meet the D A Smith family. Unfortunately, no one was home. The hp is
in the yard. This is a real mountain for east TX, with an elevation gain of 148 feet in less than a mile.
The house is in a beautiful setting.
