From Hebbronville, take TX-16 south, FM-3073 west and FM-649 north to the Webb-Jim Hogg county line marker, a total of about 20 miles from Hebbronville. This point is also the northeast corner of Zapata county. I parked at the county line and hopped a fence on the west side of the road at a pipeline clearing.

I immediately entered the scrub/cactus mix and headed southwest, following various game/cattle trails and other clearings until I came upon some structures, about 2000 feet of hiking from the road. This is the Glen Oil Field. These are within the lone 860-foot contour, but brush and flatness make any views impossible.

Wander and return to the road, using power lines as a bearing device. Alas, I snagged some brush here and there and had to pick some thorns from my clothing.
