Millard County Highpoint Trip Report

Mine Camp Peak (10,222 ft)

Date: September 29, 2004
Authors: Jennifer and Gerry Roach

Long drive, short climb. Eschewing High in Utah, we followed Scott Surgent's excellent description of how to drive close to Mine Camp Peak, much of which is on the heavily-used Paiute ATV Trail.

The only things that we would add to Scott's report is that our odometer read 0.7 mile longer than his at the parking place, and that we had proportional gains over his mileage readings during our approach.

This road was in amazingly good shape and one could drive a Subaru or equivalent to the parking area.

For extra credit, we also hiked up tower-topped 10,215-foot White Pine Peak.
