Charlottesville City High Point Trip Report

From US 29, take Fontaine Avenue east 0.6 miles, and turn left at Maury Avenue, which becomes
Alderman Road and leads onto the University of Virginia campus. Pass the stadium and turn left at the
traffic light intersection signed for the Observatory Hill Dining Hall. Take this road, McCormick Road,
uphill and bear right at 1.7 miles at the sign for Hereford College. The road follows the ridge line, and
crosses the city line just uphill, before starting to bear left. High ground is right on the road where it
crosses the city line, but I saw no boundary markers. Park and walk the road for 100' in either direction to
cover the high point.
