Lee County Highpoint Trip Report

The directions listed on the CoHP site are completely accurate. Stay on the
main jeep road at the 2 turns. The only scenery I could see was the strip job
south of the HP.
A few observations: the pipeline noted at the 2nd turn is a
methane line. These are ALL over the area, carrying methane from all the mines.
I scared a bear about midway up, saw a baby raccoon near the turn around.
Be careful, the parking lot is a LONG way from the law; however 160 gets a fair
amount of traffic between Powell Valley and Harlan. Don't leave any valuables
in sight.
