Manassas City High Point Trip Report
one area 400 ft SW of Portner Ave and Sudley Road intersection (320+ ft)

From I-66, exit 47, take Business VA 234/Sudley Road south into Manassas. At 3.7 miles, where Business
234 bears right onto Grant Ave., continue straight ahead on Sudley. Turn right onto Portner Avenue at 4.3
miles. The road crests almost immediately, and I thought the highest ground was in the center of the street
opposite the driveway of house #9204. BM not found. I thought the topo showed some high ground in the
vicinity of the railroad depot, south of Center Street, near downtown Manassas, where a water tank shows
on the topo.
The tank sits on a sharp little hill, adjacent to the tracks, and this area may be the highest ground in
Manassas, but the hill looks man-made in an otherwise flat area. Second opinion?
