Columbia County High Point Trip Report

Oregon Butte (6,387 ft)

Date: September 9, 2001
Author: Trapper Robbins

After leaving the Teepee Trailhead, you have several different route choices heading to the summit of Oregon Butte that don't appear on the USGS map. First, there is a trail that contours north of West Butte (so you don't have to go over the summit if you don't want to). Secondly, there is a steep footpath running between the Oregon Butte Spring and the summit of Oregon Butte.

By using both options, we were able to do a scenic hike with very little overlap on the up/down routes.

Round trip total (using all options) is 6 miles, with 1,400 feet elevation gain.
