Hi All,

Just an FYI, over $400 was donated from over a dozen cohpers. Many thanks to everyone for helping us keep the lights on at cohp.org <http://cohp.org/>. Expenses are currently less than $200 a year so we are in good shape going forward.

Thanks for doing this, Laura, and nice to have met you at the convention.

Any word as to when new trip reports and other substantive changes will resume being made to the website?

Nice to meet you too Mike; what a fun time at the Konvention.

As to the TR etc, with the help of Andrew Kirmse, we are looking at updating the overall code of the website which in turn will make the TR uploading a bit easier and I have offered to take a lead in posting these updates once this is in place. It will require a bit of training and due to hiking schedules likely wont happen until mid-September. Everything really took a pause this summer with the loss of Edward and still trying to sort it all out so thank you everyone for their patience.

Thank you to Laura and Andrew and any others involved in the effort.

Andy Martin and I have had a recent conversation about trip reports, too. There is still a large file of CoHP trip reports in my possession and everything that's been posted to the group since the last posted reports has been captured. Andy is currently peakbagging in Colorado and we plan to address this in more detail when he returns. He (and you all) have my commitment to make the reports available on the web site in the format we have enjoyed in the past. What's not (yet) sorted out is who does what and how the data are loaded.

Stay tuned.

>>Thanks for doing this, Laura,

And I second that thank you.

Myself, Scott Surgent, Greg Slayden, Dave Covill,
Roy Wallen & Laura are working to keep the website
1) Alive
2) Getting new content uploaded

Additional volunteers to work on the site are welcomed.
(modify files and upload new content - contact
me at oldadit@gmail.com if interested.)

We are doing fine on #1, not so hot on #2.
I expect matters will improve once the summer hiking season
winds down. I would like to prepare some simple guidelines
for uploading new completion maps and trip reports.
However I can't get FTP working (it worked OK last spring).
Hopefully I'll have this sorted out soon ...

>This is a special day, one a long time in the making. I have convinced
my climber friend Barbara Lilley to allow me to tell a part of her story,
and what a story it is!! Many who know her think of Barbara as the
pre-eminent peakbagger that she is, but most are not aware of her
many first ascents outside of the southwestern US, and her many
pioneering ascents far afield. I hope you enjoy reading this
story as much as I did writing it. As always, you can find it at:

http://www.desertmountaineer.com/2015/07/24/barbara-lilley-a-climbing-life-part-2/

Barb Lilley has completed the AZ, NV, UT cohps
and all except 4 poor access ones in CA.

Serious hikers in CA, AZ and NV have likely seen her
register entries with Gordon MacLeod.

Read Doug's nice write up to learn about some
other peaks Barb has climbed.

>>Don''t understand what you mean by, "I Martinized at the gate and
turn around."

(Andy)
Right - it is bad enough that you guys call driving to
the very tip top and proudly stepping on the BM "Martinizing"

It would be even worse it you started using that term
to mean just driving to the gate - or just driving across
the county line - or just driving down to the store for
another six pack - and so forth.

When it comes to gates a whole new lexicography is needed.
We all know that what "Burdizing" means:

http://www.snwburd.com/bob/trip_photos/sugarloaf_n46_1/P1000090_w.html

Additional terminology is needed for:

1. Turning around
2. Turning around on wife's orders
3. Waiting for someone to show up with a key - inbound :)
4. Waiting for someone to show up with a key - outbound :(
5. etc, etc,

"didnt have any numbers in his phone book.
He memorized them all"
