>>If I remember correctly, on July 1st, 2001, I was coming down from
Brokeoff Mountain with my mom and Jeanne Allen. Just below the top we
had a brief conversation with a guy heading up. Come to find out later
that "guy" was Andy Martin. Am I remembering this correctly, Andy?

Yes, and still our only meeting :(

Has a similar meeting with Ken Oeser and family.
Think they figured out it might be me when they got
to the parking lot and saw Honda with AZ plate and DeLorme
in front seat.

-------- leaving the COHP universe ---------------------

Had a very lucky meeting on Baker Peak ME (not a COHP)
this summer. This peak has an unpleasant bushwack,
and gets only a couple Peakbagger entries a year:

It was raining off and on that day, so you got to wrestle with
many, many wet Christmas trees. As I neared the top
I heard voices, and sure enough there were three other
idiots there.

One of them even lent me an extra compass to help me with
the descent, as I'd made a couple extra loops on the ascent.

Wikipedia has a good article on email posting style:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posting_style

(from - article)
>>For a long time the traditional style was to post the answer below as
much of the quoted original as was necessary to understand the reply
(bottom or inline). Many years later, when email became widespread in
business communication, it became a widespread policy to reply above the
entire original and leave it untouched below the reply.

This is interesting to me, as I now know that
some businesses require employees to "top post",
and to leave the entire original below.

Unfortunately that policy does not work out very well
in this egroup for the folks (like me) that get the
daily digest. It gets hard to pick out the new content
from the big mass of repetition.

In any case, "top posters" are encouraged to trim
the original below their post if it is not needed.

Folks that wish to further harass our top posters
should do this by private email - a bit of friendly
banter offline might go further than public
sermons ?

And bear in mind that if the top poster
changes his habits and gets fired for screwing
up a work email, you are required to contact their
employer and beg for mercy :)

Interesting text continues to show up in
the daily digest I get(see below). Not sure how to fix this,
or if it is fixable. (Like maybe we need a new Yahoo CEO ??)

Maybe we should set group preferences differently ?
Current preference is

XX HTML - Include Attachments in Email

Email Preferences :

Plain Text
HTML - No Attachments
HTML - Include Attachments as links
XX HTML - Include Attachments in Email

If you know the answer contact me offline - thanks
