Thank you Jim, John, Jerry and others for your refreshing posting and breathing life into this group. The last thing we need is to be "on edge" for an innocent posting. Civility is about tolerance for free speech.Tolerance for your neighbors point of view without being judgmental.

Things can go too far by trying to control every sentence in each posting. Obviously, when a posting is out of line, something that is hateful or mean spirited in tone it will be obvious to a majority in this group.

Ironically, I'm not trying to politicize this group. I'm attempting to do the exact opposite. When I'm condemned for making a oblique reference to Clinton that is politicization. Political correctness in it self is politicization by trying to control our speech and our thought process to coform with a certain point of view.

I'm a proud Conservative and I would have no problem with someone taking a jab at Donald Trump or Ted Cruz as long as its done in good taste and is relevant to Highpointing. As long as you respect my right to do likewise to the Democratic side and its relevant to Highpointing.

If anyone watched the Saturday Night Live skit this weekend about Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton it was hilarious. It poked fun at both sides. Isn't that the American way. Free expression. Let our hair down.
Laughter is healthy. We need to laugh at the other side and we need to laugh at ourselves.

We need to stop taking things so seriously and condemning our fellow human beings for perceived slights. Lets laugh a little. Life is too short to be angry.

By our very nature, Highpointers like to roam and explore. We should b free spirits both on and off line.

Peace!

Just worth noting that dating (cheapen?) a really great reference piece with real research about highpoint names with political jabs constructed during an election cycle seems to be a little self defeating.

Aren't you all getting a little carried away with a minor incident over a sentence? How about live and let live and just let it drop? Dick Oestrecher

Interesting about SC.

I recently placed into the Highpointers archive a copy of "The Origin of Ohio County Boundaries." If anyone is interested, especially you Buckeyes, let me know and I'll get it to you somehow.
