Wow, nice job you two! Doug, I remember when you didn't know what a highpoint was - you are tearin' it up out there!
Cheers,
Susan

I think that of the 12 midwest states, half will be hard to pull a top five hikes out of (NE, KS, IA, IL, IN, OH)

He poses a challenge. Can we fill it?
He himself offers a few,
IL: Salt Lick Point in Monroe County
IL: Horton Hill in Saline County (this hike combined with Bald Knob on the approach is about the only time in Illinois it felt like a hike with the need of paying attention to avoid getting lost).

Some that I have thought of,
KS: I was thinking of Stanton county
NE: I was thinking of Chase county, Morrill county,
OH: Highland county
OH: Jackson county
OH: Vinton county in Tar Hollow State Park

What can you think of?

For Nebraska, there are some interesting hikes in the Sand Hills. It seems
a top-5 could be chosen from among that region. Morrill County is
definitely one. Garden County too. I only hiked a few on the west edge, but
I liked the area.
