(article excerpt)
...
But a new analysis, based on new mapping technology, has found that Isto
is indeed taller, at 8,976 feet (2,736 meters).
The next highest is actually Mt. Hubley, at 8,917 feet (2,718 meters),
followed by Chamberlin at 8,901 feet (2,713 meters).

These new measurements also show that Isto is about 330 feet (100
meters) taller than the highest peak in Arctic Canadaa fact that was
also previously debated.
...

(for the LiDar guys)
Over the past few years, Nolan has developed a new sensing system that
leverages recent advancements in technology to provide more data at a
lower cost. He named it fodar, a combination of foto and LiDAR (light
detection and ranging)

Re: IA, I suspected, and did a little map checking. Perhaps the most hike to a coHP in Iowa is Fremont county, in the southwest corner. It has been done, but no one has posted a trip report yet.

Just from looking at maps, let me suggest a few possible good hikes in IN and KS

IN: Spencer
KS: Elk, Montgomery, Wabaunsee, Wilson, Woodson

Fremont County took me three tries because each
time, the owner of the house at the end 227th Ave was not
home. He's also a state cop, so it's very
important to get permission which he's cool with giving
when you can catch him. How I ended up doing it was I saw
a lot of Nebraska Cornhuskers gear in his yard the second time I went to get permission. So I
showed up a little before kick off time on a Saturday and
sure enough he was on his couch watching the game. Also,
avoid hunting season days, he's got a big ol wooden
hunting stand/shack up there.

He told me to go ahead and drive up to the top if I felt like it, but there are some deep ruts just past the steep hill where you cross into the pasture. So with a 4wd, it's not even a hike.

Monona, Harrison, Mills and Fremont all have some pretty nice views, but all four of them have issues where it's either not public land, not a long hike, or have a bunch of candidate contours.
