Please count me in as well.

There are friends-of-Earl that are not in our cohp group. May I extend this memorial to some of them?

Thanks,

Darryl Montgomery

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday and received a special hiking present from Santa like I did.

It seems that there is lots of interest in memorializing our hiking friends who have reached the end of their trail. Sassafras is a great idea for EE since he will always be connected with the state. I attended the memorial for EE that was in WA and there was some of his hiking stuff (maps, books, etc.) available for the taking. I picked up EE's Delorme for South Carolina and I knew that whenever I looked at this book, I would remember my friend EE. Dave, count me in too.

Additionally, I pose this idea for consideration by the group. How about a "Virtual Memorial" located on the web for those who we wish to honor. I am a Viet Nam veteran and a virtual wall exists for all those killed in action in Viet Nam and it is a good place to visit to remember those friends without having to travel to Washington DC to see the real wall. A virtual memorial could be a collaborative effort by Highpointers, CoHP, Peakbagger, LOJ, and others and could include not only biographical information, but hiking accomplishments, and an area where we can all leave our comments and pics.

Now, you all have a great New Years and get busy planning your hikes for 2016 and somehow get to Montana in August for the Konvention.
