IIRC the highest ground was in the trailer park but as mentioned he ruled that out

Mihai G. wrote " I plan on using the western approach from Elkhart Park via Pole Creek-Seneca Lake-Indian Pass-Titcomb Basin trails. Base camp will be in Titcomb Basin at one of the lakes there. Obviously this means we will be committed to the harder climbing route going over Bonney/Dinwoody Pass and crossing two glaciers (Dinwoody and Gooseneck). "

???

This is the southwest approach. My understanding of the route does not require crossing the Gooseneck Glacier. The route description says that Gooseneck Pinnacle can be turned in either direction. You can do like Adam Helman and gain the ridge behind the Gooseneck Pinnacle by climbing the snow-chute at N 43.17866 W 109.65255, south side of the ridge.

The same thing could be gained from Mammoth Glacier and Glacier Pass. That nixes a possible ascent of Fremont Peak, but you could contemplate going up Yves Chouinard (18 y.o. at the time, solo)'s south face of Gannett route.
