Here is something to think about for after your outdoors trip, and the trip back home. From a Forbes Magazine article.

"According to the Division of Sleep Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, ... The negative effects of sleep deprivation are so great that people who are drunk outperform those lacking sleep."

My guess is that people who are fatigued are the same. They need some sleep to recover.

Most of us have probably driven all night and then hiked/climbed the next day. Works better at age 25. At age 73 I would fall asleep behind the wheel before midnight.
