With the exception of Mike, I have no idea what you folks are talking about. And I think I will keep it that way.

Subject: [cohp] State High Points and Pokemon Go

So what does a nerd herd stampede in Central Park

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7StjwNBtTrI

have to do with our dignified hobby ?
More than you might think.

Summary:
32 state HPs might be of interest to Pokemon Go players.

Gory details:
PokeStops and PokeGyms (dont ask :) might be found at
32 state high points (listing below). Field checking
is needed on this. To do this download the app, create
an account (Google Login will work) and visit the state
HP in question.

This was determined by looking at the Ingress
Intel map (details below).

This methodology was field checked on Mount Lemmon, where
the Steward Observatory sign is near the Pima COHP:
https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5235/7155978490_a94ae4c805_b.jpg

This sign is represented by a blue "squished bug" on the
Ingress Intel Map. This sign is indeed the location of a PokeGym,
conquered by none other than oldadit on 7-18-2016. Eat dust Bob ! ;)

Ingress Intel Map (login needed, slow, hard to use,
need to zoom way in on HPs to check)
https://www.ingress.com/intel

Green and blue "squished bugs" correspond to either PokeStops or PokeGyms.

https://support.ingress.com/hc/en-us/articles/207032488-Advanced-Intel-Map-features

Google map of state high points - handy for help in navigating
the cumbersome Ingress Intel Map.

Relevance:
This might be a handy way to get the kids interested in the
Kansas high point ?

Surely someone will want to visit the Poke-whatevers on
every state high point that has one ??

21 million Pokemon Go users. 1 in 1000 will go to a state
HP Poke-place. 1 in 1000 of these will join the HP club.
Membership grows ???

FYI, I know we are all suspicious of clicking on links in e-mails. I logged onto the Yahoo group site, and verified that this poll is on the up-and-up. Oh, and I voted for blue/yellow. Not sure why; just did.

I would vote yellow/blue, however, if one were to complete the entire lower 48, they would complete every county or county equivalent and yet still have one yellow county with no way to green it. That doesn't make much sense to me, so on my maps it's green, albeit a very tiny green dot. But it shouldn't count towards state completion totals.

I agree with this it needs to be green

Or at the very minimum if he either Maryland or Virginia or green then it should be green
