Two New-Old Reports

Been a long while since I've posted much here, but I'm starting an effort to get caught up on trip reports, even if I'm four years and about 40 COHPs behind!

First, here's my oldest un-posted COHP report: Cobb County, Georgia (Kennesaw Mountain) on June 8, 2012.
http://www.thegreatzo.com/cohp/counties/ga/cobb/ http://www.thegreatzo.com/cohp/counties/ga/cobb/

Next, here's a re-do visit to Hamilton County, Ohio, from earlier this year. Wanted to make a visit across the north side of the road, which LiDAR indicated was as high as the area in front of the big castle-like water tanks.

Both reports have GPS tracks and a whole bunch of pictures.

Getting about in New York City

I see on today's New York Post front page the headline 'City Wants to Drive You Mad'.
'Traffic is hell on purpose'

I can't provide a good url for the article. But Google on the headline and 'New York Post', or try

or

This is relevant to an effort to visit urban highpoints of whatever sort. It is an idea that started in Europe and I think we will see it in many more cities in the future.

If one wants to drive, by far the best way to do the highpoints of the five boroughs is by starting early on a Sunday morning, with Saturday as a second choice. Weekdays are very very difficult. I have been able to do the five boroughs, plus the two Long Island county highpoints, on three different occasions, all on Sundays, with no problem. The last time around, with Adam Helman and Lanny Wexler, we even snuck in a NJ cohp or two.
