I stopped at Hogback Mtn, the NE Prom Point, enroute to Panorama Point, the
NE Highpoint, on Saturday. Clare Comstock accompanied me.

http://www.peakbagger.com/climber/ClimbListC.aspx?cid=2284&sort=AscentDateD&u=ft&j=-1&y=2017

We enjoyed the visit, see the TR. Arch is still in residence in his man
cave, replete with hides, pelts, antlers, skulls, and snakeskins.
Interesting character, well worth visiting.

No real light shed on the 6 candidates, as I did not bring my trusty 5X
handlevel, alas.... All should be visited; we chose a N>S loop, Edwards
point 6 > Point 1.

I had visited the Banner County Highpoint many years earlier, a bit higher
and further west towards the WY state line. This peak rises well up from
the surrounding prairie, and is a lovely spot with a respectable hike (6
miles, 1,100'+ gain), great views, deer & elk in the vicinity.

It was EPIC !

I see Dave made it to Arch's, out in Western Nebraska by his recent post on Hogback Mountain. What a guy and dare I say one of the most unique individuals one will ever meet out in the hills?

Another thing worth mentioning(?) that Dave touches on is EPIC's now up for pursuit.

E = Elevation
P = Prominence
I = Isolation
C = Complete

It's a great list that combines all of the above with many of the peaks/points being county and state high points. I wish I had this list with me way back in the day while crisscrossing The USA but regardless, it's a good excuse to get on out and fill in gaps of places I missed the first time around.

Thanks Greg, for putting EPIC List - States of the USA, on Peakbagger.com.

Yea, ditto thanks from me Greg on putting the list up on the site.

Many of these prominence and isolation points are also county highpoints so for people who might not want to put themselves down for every county highpoint in every state, they can make themselves a smaller list of quality cohp's that is much more achievable.
