Two years ago when I was up in Inuvik before and after rafting the Firth River in Canadas little-visited Ivvavik National Park, I was sort of amused that they still follow daylight saving time during the Arctic summer.

After all, when this is what the middle of the night looks like, why would you need to save any daylight? You already have all that you could possibly get.

Congratulations to David Olson on his completion of the county HPs of Rhode Island. David finished the Ocean State yesterday, March 11, on Jerimoth Hill in Providence County, the state HP. He is, according to my records, the 88th person to complete Rhode Island.

Other completers that have not been acknowledged (because I didn't know about them) are Van Wagner on June 12, 2106, in Bristol County; and Aly Beck, Oleta Retemeyer, and Seth Retemeyer on July 21, 2016, in Newport County. Van is completer #84 and Aly, Oleta, and Seth are jointly #85. I gleaned this information from Peakbagger. Congratulations all.
