Putnam County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: September 15, 2008
Author: Charlie Zerphey
No one was home on arrival. My wife waited in the pick-up and I continued to
the summit. When I arrived back at the King home, my wife was having a
conversation with a cousin of Mr. King who now lives in the house.
Another great West Virginia character. Showed us a neat curled dogwood
walking stick he created.
We talked about carving and later he insisted that I take some of his
cherry wood, which I readily accepted. He also demonstrated a paddle board that
had 4 turkeys on the board that would peck at grain on the board.
Invited us back and said any and all CoHPers are welcome.
