collecting Montana and Idaho county highpoints in July 2008.
A playground serves as an excellent campsite 2.4 miles south of Whitlash, along Whitlash Road,
on the east side in a "hollow" below the main road. I could get a cell signal along
the road here; but not in the playground area where Tim and I eat and sleep.
It is 7.9 road miles from Whitlash, along Black Jack Road, to our trailhead
(and that of Jerry Brekhus in his report) for Mount Brown.
At the forested summit there are no views, unlike, for instance, during most of the ascent.
The round-trip consumes 3 hours 55 minutes with multiple breaks.
