Ulster County Highpoint Trip Report

This effort was part of a larger journey
collecting New England county highpoints in May 2012.
The trailhead parking lot
(off of County Road 47) is at (42.00868° N, 74.42760° W), GPS-measured elevation 2,463 feet.
It is 6.56 air miles (and roughly 8 road miles) from the Route 28 / CR47 junction in Big Indian, New York.
There is a minor stream crossing immediately after leaving the trailhead.
Then, when 0.4 mile from the cited trailhead turn right (south) at a
"T"-junction
with coordinates (42.00692° N, 74.42035° W) onto the abandoned road. Remember this junction for
your descent!
At the summit area, some 50 feet west of the old foundation and 10 feet south of the trail is high ground.
My elapsed time was 2 hours 55 minutes including snack and views at the clear area east of the true summit.
